Gov. Roy Cooper declares April as NC Beer Month

On Thursday, April 5, Governor Roy Cooper will officially declare April as NC Beer Month. This marks the sixth year of this celebration of our craft beer scene here in the Tar Heel State. NC Beer Month is sponsored by the North Carolina Craft Brewers Guild and Visit North Carolina, and features over 70 events across the state – from the mountains to the coast.

The proclamation will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Ponysaurus Brewing Company in Durham. Beside Cooper, speakers will also include Keil Jansen of Ponysaurus and Andrew Lemley of the NC Craft Brewers Guild.

With many unique collaborations to Bond Brothers Beer Company winning USA Today's "Best new Brewery in America" to Barrel Culture entering the market with fruit-forward ales and Brewery Bhavana being named among the top 10 best new restaurants – what's not to love about the NC craft beer scene?

Crank Arm Brewery in Raleigh kicked off the month with its annual Casks on Fools which featured  20 local breweries. And Brewgaloo – the largest beer festival in North Carolina featuring over 100 NC beers, finishes off the month in downtown Raleigh on April 28.
April is sure to highlight this industry across the state with new beer releases, festivals and beer dinners.
